Ride, Picnic + Youth Tri

Hi all! Quick updates…

If you’d like to help with volunteer activities at the YMCA’s Youth Tri (August 16th), please email: susanstockstill@gmail.com (+ copy jsanders3027@yahoo.com) directly. THANK YOU!!!

If you’re planning to attend the GA Vets Post-Race picnic, please be sure to RSVP by today! Please post to the FB event page with kids vs adults details for your party. If you’re bringing extended family or friends, please contribute $10 per person. If you’re not on Facebook, please email Alison Parker at asparker08@gmail.com.

Since we’re expecting our new baby soon, and since Ironman Chattanooga is fast approaching, we really need volunteers to organize and lead the Tuesday morning ride—which basically means just posting the details to the FB page and website calendar, so folks can join in. And grabbing a headcount…and promising not to drop anyone. Leader can change weekly if need be, and you can certainly adjust the date/time to suit your schedule, but we really would appreciate some help keeping this ride alive. If you have questions about how to do any of this, please contact Jeff Drawdy at jeffreydrawdy@gmail.com.

I can’t say it enough…please hydrate. We have a seasoned member who landed in the hospital for 5 hours of post-race ice and IV-hydration last weekend. It can happen to anyone, even if you’re well practiced at this sport. If you have questions about training and/or racing hydration, please feel free to reach out to any of our club’s resources, especially Brady Irwin at Science of Speed or Jen Bendewish of Herbalife 24.

Thanks, all!!!
