Back by popular demand… It’s the post-race RCTC BBQ! First we race Georgia Veterans Sprint Triathlon (August 10) at Lake Blackshear in Cordele. Then we BBQ.

Bring families and plan to stick around for an afternoon of ski-boating, face-stuffing and lake-play. There will be frosty beverages. Grills will be fired up. Fun will be had. Awards won and photos posted. That’s a promise.

Location and time TBD. Please RSVP by August 1 to the Facebook event page if you’re on FB. Otherwise, please post here + specify number of peeps in your party.

Mosses + Parkers will bring perishables. Members, please plan to bring non-perishables—chips, fruit, drinks, and plastic/paperware. We’re sorting details, so please check back often!

Don’t forget to register for the race using the link above and your discount code sent via email (re-sent last week!). And please say thanks to the Rainey’s of Georgia Multisports when you come out on raceday.

Weekend Race Recap.

Clayton and I cruised down to Crystal River in search of manatees, race medals and dee-lish beach-front pulled pork sammiches. We missed the former but scored the latter two… 3rd place AG for Clayton and 2nd place AG for Renee. This is a great race, so please consider it (or any other DRCSports race) for your racing calendar. We get 10% off any race with DRCSports!

A whole lotta RCTC’ers have raced in the last week, so here’s a fun little gallery! Enjoy!

  1. Maclay is dangerous…about six feet deep at the buoy markers. Then it drops to about eight feet. Don’t swim without a lifeguard.

    • All bodies of water present some level of danger. Our goal is to safely help our members find a comfort level in the water that translates to an enjoyable race day. If you’re not comfortable, I encourage you to listen to that.
